Who Am I?

Today our service ended with this song. It is important that we do step back from the busy world and ask the question "Who Am I?" My reflection is am I making a difference for Christ and how can I improve?

Where were you when the lights went out?

Today, as the countdown was around 2 minutes the lights went out at church. They quickly flickered and came back on. We set everything up to start the service again. Just as we had everything working, the lights went out again. They came back on but quickly went off again. We were told that there had been a wreck on White Horse Road. So now what do we do? Our musician got their instruments and we started worship. So many times we think we have to have everything just right or worship will not happen. Worship happen today at WAC! There was no lights (a few candles), no sound system, no big screen, and no air conditioning but worship happen. Sometimes we need to be reminded that God is concerned more about the heart than about all the extras.

San Diego - Block Party

I wanted to share pictures from the Block Party. It was a privilege to be able to be a part of this Mission Trip. This was a great time of making connections.

San Diego - Unexpected Blessing

On Monday, we went to the park at Sage Canyon Elementary to hang out with our friends from Elevate. Some of our team was playing volleyball, when Chuck M. was going to make the big play of the game (creative license). Instead of making the big play, Chuck fell and dislocated his knee. (I mean it looked bad!) The EMS was called. Now this is where it gets good. Chuck had on a DNow t-shirt. He started witnessing to the EMS guys about what the shirt stood for (Way to go Chuck!!)

Then when we went to the emergency room, Ricky was going to give one the firemen (they also came to help) an Elevate card. The fireman already had a card. Ricky was not happy at all. The rest of the evening he kept asking: “I wonder who beat me to it.” When is the last time you got upset because someone spoke to a person before you got to? Talk about passion! May we all be so passionate that we get upset if we are not the first one to tell someone about Christ.

Blessing come in many ways and I was very blessed last night to witness this one. I believe that Elevate will also see results from the contacts made.

San Diego Mission Trip

My husband and I leave today for San Diego. We are traveling to Atlanta to catch our flight. When we arrive in San Diego we will be working with Elevate. The lead pastor is Kevin Campbell. Check out his blog here. Elevate has a fantastic mission: Our Mission is to develop passionate followers of Christ.
If we are passionate about what we are doing we will draw others. I want to be passionate about Christ to draw others to Him.

Why should we blog?

ETV Workshops

I am in Columbia attending workshops. "Welcome to the Blogoshere" is encouraging me to again think about ways to use blogs in school.

On Tuesday, I attended "ETV Extras". I found out about One Place. This will be so easy to use. One site to search many sites. I have also attended "iPods", "Media Literacy", "Promethean" (I won a flash drive!) and "50 Ways to use StreamlineSC".

I have one more day of workshops. The workshops are worth the time!
